The semiotic aspects of the commercial are the way the man is dressed on the boat – trying to look attractive and upper-class. Therefore, the demographic of the ad is for men who want appear upper-class and “clean”. In addition, the brands line “Smell like man” portrays to men because it sounds like if men do not use this product they’re not the ideal man. The picnic and boat setting is also a symbol for luring women in; the scene can be compared to the scene in The Little Mermaid.
The psychoanalytic aspects of the commercial are how men and women are influenced by the ad. In an unconscious way men want to look and appeal to women in the way the man is represented in the ad, and women want a man such as the on in the ad.
