Smart phones have emerged as an essential part of our daily lives. They allow us to communicate instantly to a large audience. It puts access to news all around the world at our fingertips. Its physical size encourages convenience and allows you to carry it with you everywhere as compared to the older models of phones and computers. The smart phone has replaced countless other technologies such as the calculator, alarm clock, music, camera, and television through applications and internet capabilities. In addition, it has reduced the use of hand held video games such as Play Station, Nintendo and Wii. It also encourages video chat communication and convenient camera use to film anything at anytime. Although these are advantages, smart phones have decreased our ability to conduct social life in some ways. Face-to-face communication has become less common and emails have replaced postal mail that are formal and proper. Even in our daily lives where there is potential to have face-to-face conversations, the constant use of smart phones has decreased our social interactions.
