I really enjoyed my time last Saturday evening at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.  The performance, which focused on Vivaldi’s works of the four seasons, was interesting and fascinating to hear and watch.

The conductor, Marin Alsop, was lively, humorous, and did a great job instructing the musicians.  I had never been to a symphony before, and honestly thought it was going to be a boring show, but I ended up being very interested in all that the conductor had to say about the pieces the musicians were about to be playing.  I really enjoyed Alsop explaining the descriptions of the songs and the fun facts she stated about Vivaldi.  I was surprised that the first piece they played, “Summer”, I recognized.
