I went to a common text event last night and listened and participated while Dr. Wendell Pritchett, Presidential Professor of Law and Education at The University of Pennsylvania informed us on many issues right here in Baltimore. The main topic of idea was on creating equitable communities, globally, nationally and locally. He grew up in Society Hill in Philadelphia and was the only black family in his neighborhood. He said he never felt discriminated there other than two times and he remembers both of those occurrences very well. As a group, we brought up many key ideas on creating equitable communities right here in Baltimore. One that really caught my attention was to better the roads and the sidewalks to have an easier way to connect the east and the west side.
